2017 was 31:20’s fifth official year!
Here are the highlights from 2017:
2017 brought the start of an exciting new ministry- Adoption Support Group! We invited adoptive families to join us every month for encouragement, prayer, speakers, and support. Our new community included over 25 families walking the beautiful, but often discouraging road of adoption together. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/adoption-support-group
In March, we prepared more than 60 frozen meals at our Just Feed One Cooking Night! We had over 25 people help us prep and prepare the meals, including lots of hard working children. The meals went to families who welcomed new babies, sick neighbors, and families having a hard month. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/just-feed-one-cooking-night
May brought the 4th Annual Clothing Auction organized by Monika! We had 15 women come and shop and raised over $1,000 for Extended Hands of Hope’s Avanti House. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/clothing-auction
In June, we had our first Family BBQ & Vision Night at the park. We had eight families join us for a bbq, volleyball, and most importantly, to hear about creating a vision for your family and how we make a difference in our neighborhood, community, and the world. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/familyvision
We met for Book Club during the summer and discussed some amazing books that challenged us to step out of our comfort zone and live on mission for God’s kingdom. We brought our kids, lunches, and had some meaningful conversations on blankets in the grass while all the kids (and there were LOTS) played on the playgrounds. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/summer-book-club
In July, we had a special guest visit us all the way from India! Dev Sarkar, founder of Hope Home Orphanage in Calcutta, prepared a delicious Indian meal for us and shared all the new things happening at Hope Home at our A Night in India. We were able to raise over $800 for Hope Home’s new construction projects! https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/india
September brought the second annual Women’s Retreat in beautiful Breckenridge, Colorado. Eighteen women came together for a weekend of rest, relaxation, and teaching! We heard from the inspiring Jen Oshman about how to press into Jesus. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/womensretreat
In October, we held the 8th Annual Justice Run at the Hudson Gardens, raising over $62,000 for various non-profits who are fighting against modern day slavery. We had over 1,330 registered runners, 75 volunteers, 42 sponsors, 35 teams, and 44 non-profits involved in the race this year. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/justice-run
In late October, we had our very first Canvas & Cookies painting night! We had over 20 people join us to learn how to paint an inspiring piece for their homes. All of the money from the event, over $500, went to Hope Home in Calcutta’s new construction projects. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/canvasandcookies
Finally, in December, we held our Shop Once Give Twice Christmas Marketplace! The three-day event featured almost twenty different fair-trade vendors from all over the world. We sold over $30.000 in handmade products from the different artisan’s, directly impacting impoverished communities worldwide. https://www.thirtyonetwenty.org/christmas-marketplace
We are amazed at how God is moving and working through 31:20, and are extremely thankful for all of you who have partnered with us throughout the year! As we start 2018, we are anticipating another year full of events where we can live out our mission by being the hands and feet of Christ.
