Just Feed One

"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one." - Mother Teresa

I don't feed 100 people everyday, but there are days it feels like it. Especially, for someone who really dislikes cooking. The first meal I ever made for my husband was a boxed noodle dish. On the back, it said you could add ham and peas to make it a complete meal, but not having either of those I substituted bacon and green beans. The result was not great. He spit it out and I ended up in the bathroom crying.

Nowadays, not many people, other than my kids, spit my food out, but I still wish I could have manna sent for 40. A few times in my life I have had "manna" sent to me, like when I was on bed rest, had a sick husband, or doubled the size of my family overnight through adoption. When people brought us meals, it truly felt just like manna from heaven.

Today, I did some cooking, I split my bulk chicken up into several meals that are now in the freezer waiting for the hungry masses (aka my kids), or maybe a family I want to bless but just don't have the time to make a meal for that day. I now have a few waiting just in case. These are my new favorite recipes http://www.overthebigmoon.com/freezer-meals/

It's not fancy, it's not rockets science, and it may not change the world, but it will make all the difference to the sick dad, the pregnant mom, or the grieving family you take a meal to. When you share bread with some one, you can also share the Bread of Life with them.
